Next, Joel did a live demo in Photoshop Mix (curently being redeveloped and merged with Photoshop Fix) where he put his daughter's Book Week Hobbit costume into an actual Hobbit-Hole!
Next, for the Thought Leader segment, Tim shared a selection of his EduTECH presentation on creativity in education, which of course made special mention of the 1 year anniversary of the passing of a titan in Edu-thought, Sir Ken Robinson.
Check out our explorations in the video (embedded above), and check out the Adobe Spark Summary Page I created during the livestream event this evening. :)
We were joined by Chris Betcher (@betchaboy) and Michelle Dennis (@michelledennis) as our guests for this episode, with wonderful demonstrations from the both of them.
Michelle's segment (15:42 in the video) was based around the use of 3D creation files placed into Adobe Aero to give students the opportunity to create objects and see them, to scale, in a real world environment. Her virtual perfume bottle was placed on a table in the Aero desktop app, and she even gave a bonus little demo on how you can 'tell' the object to behave when it is dropped in to it's virtual environment.
Next, Chris Betcher (35:42 in the video) shared his 5 minute gem with specific and excellent examples of how constructive attitudes towards failure works to kindle creativity, not smother it.
I learned some fabulous examples of how to explain the creative process to naysayers who discount the value of creative experimentation and failure, and thoroughly enjoyed the practical ways that students can be encouraged in their artistic expression. Technology provides us with the opportunities to see our creations expressed in reality, and I love hearing from fellow educational and technology professionals about their perspectives - it is always so inspiring!
My day job includes designing, developing, writing, copy editing, creating and delivering training resources for staff and students (including video capture/editing and voice over/other post-production work for multi-modal resources). In my spare time, I like to take pretty pictures.
